West Boca Medical Center remains a leader in Robotic Surgery and was the first in Palm Beach County to acquire the Da Vinci S Surgical System This technology puts a surgeons hands at the control of a robotic platform The surgeon is seated at a console a few feet away from the patient and views an actual image of the surgical site while operating in realtime through tiny incisions using electromechanically enhanced instruments The advanced technology allows the surgeon to have greater precision increased range of motion improved dexterity enhanced visualization and ability to perform minimally invasive surgery
The patient often has a shorter hospital stay reduced risk of infection less blood loss and in general a quicker return to normal daily activities Robotic surgery has advanced to allow our team of more than 10 surgeons to safely perform complex cases in gynecologic urologic pediatric thoracic general surgery and gynecological oncology areas
