Villa Feliciana Medical Complex is located in East Feliciana Parish in Jackson Louisiana Although the facility was originally established in 1964 to care for the elderly its mission has evolved over time to include the provision of medical care and rehabilitative services to medically complex patients diagnosed with chronic diseases disabilities and terminal illnesses Higher acuity patients with specialized needs including those who are ventilatordependent or who have been diagnosed with infectious diseases such as HIVAids or tuberculosis are often referred here for admission from acutecare hospitals in the state The facility operates Gateway House a 44bed residential shelter care program designed to assist former patients at the Eastern Louisiana Mental Health System to develop skills required to function more independently and transition into a communitybased setting
The facilitys goal is to ensure each patient is provided with highquality compassionate health care that meets their individualized medical or rehabilitation needs in a homelike safe environment and which affords the patient the opportunity to obtain the highest possible quality of life
