History
The Hospitals History
Opened in 1925 with funding from community doctors ministers business leaders and nearly every resident The Westerly Hospital is built upon a tradition of close community relationships That tradition continues with the opening of our new Emergency Department and Medical and Surgical Care Units both with private inpatient rooms Over 150 physicians and over 20 Allied Health Professionals are on staff with new specialities added in response to community need In addition the Hospital is a network participant in The Yale New Haven Health Managed Care Network
