In 2005 Red Bay hospital was awarded the status of Critical Access Hospital by the state of Alabama and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services One of only four such facilities in the state of Alabama the critical access designation means that the citizens of our communities can count on access to quality healthcare within a reasonable distance from their home

Swing Bed Programa unique service that allows the hospital to convert a hospital bed to a longterm care bed This makes it possible for a patient who is not quite ready to go home or to a longterm care facility to transfer to a swing bed from which they will receive full nursing care for up to an additional 12 weeks Patients can transfer from any hospital to the swing bed program
