Our Mission
The purpose of Northern Inyo Hospital is to provide quality healthcare by maintaining an environment that is positive and caring for the patients staff and community we serve in a financially responsible manner

History
Northern Inyo County Local Hospital District was the very first hospital district created in the state Board members of the old Bishop Community Hospital were instrumental in securing passage of the necessary legislative authority to form such districts

Northern Inyo Hospital in its present location was completed and began caring for people in 1949 Growth in the communities and in recreational activities brought more people seeking medical help

An addition was built in 1968 encompassing the lobby patient rooms two operating rooms labor and delivery rooms emergency treatment facilities and new areas for xray laboratory and pharmacy

In 1981 advances in critical care medicine were met with the opening of the new ICUCCU wing

Presently the hospital is in the midst of another building project to continue the high quality of health care services provided locally to conform with earthquake safety standards expand the range of emergency care services upgrade medical technology and facilities and improve the outpatient services including radiology and surgery
