NorLea Hospital District is a notforprofit communitybased healthcare organization that owns and operates NorLea Home Health NorLea Home Medical Lovington Clinic Tatum Clinic and NorLea General Hospital a 25bed Medicarecertified facility In addition NorLea Hospital District offers several multispecialty clinics which include Cardiology Eye surgery Gastroenterology Oncology and Urology

How We Came To Be
NorLea Hospital District was developed in 1980 after about six years of hard work and determination of the people of Northern Lea County Formerly Lea County General Hospital owned by the county it was closed by the county in 1972 The Lovington Chamber of Commerce initially was fundamental in joining together local businesses and many dedicated residents to form NorLea Health Inc in 1974 Fundraising activities and numerous trips to Santa Fe finally proved successful as legislators formed the hospital district and the hospital was reopened
