Jameson enjoys a rich heritage of community service which began in 1894 with the dedication of its predecessor the Shenango Valley Hospital Jameson Hospital first came into being through the generosity of David Jameson civic leader and banker who in 1929 announced a gift to provide a quotmore permanent and lasting testimonyquot for the community

Therefore on August 23 1929 Mr Jamesons widow formally presented Jameson Memorial Hospital to the people of New Castle and Lawrence County in response to the peoples need for a modern institution to bring the rapidly developing medical knowledge to the community
