Supported by a staff of more than 40 physicians Memorial Hospital offers a wide spectrum of services including a full service emergency department that is staffed 24 hours a day and a mobile intensive care ambulance service The hospitals Intensive Care Unit includes 10 beds six critical care beds and four stepdown beds Other specialty services include inpatient and outpatient surgery diagnostic imaging pathology obstetrics physical medicine and rehabilitation intensive care and respiratory therapy Physicians in the outpatient department specialize in gastroenterology oncology orthopedics pulmonology urology and cardiology Other outpatient services include sleep studies nuclear stress testing pulmonary function testing and a catheterization laboratory Hopkins County Hospice provides care for terminally ill patients and their families It is a hospitalbased physiciandirected nursecoordinated home care approach to the special needs of the terminally ill patient

Memorial Hospitals Womens Pavilion includes eight labordeliveryrecoverypostpartum suites two surgery suites and a Level II nursery The Day Surgery Department features a preadmit clinic for daysurgery patients operating rooms gastroenterology procedure rooms and urology procedure rooms

The Center for Acute Rehab Excellence CARE Unit at Memorial Hospital is a 10bed acute inpatient rehabilitation program located on the lower floor of the Womens Pavilion

The CARE Unit provides quality comprehensive care for those recovering from brain injury stroke major multiple trauma amputation degenerative neurological disorders orthopaedic injury arthritis spinal cord injury burns and congenital deformities

Memorial Medical Plaza is the latest addition to the hospital with the first floor of the 32000squarefoot medical office building housing the new HealthPlex at Memorial a modern outpatient physical rehabilitation center that offers comprehensive rehabilitation services including a therapeutic pool The additional two floors accommodate physician offices

Memorial Hospital was one of the first three hospitals to receive the Nurse Friendly Designation presented by the Texas Nurses Association For a hospital to be designated Nurse Friendly it must earn the distinction through a vigorous review process where it fully documents that 12 essential elements of the ideal practice environment as defined by nurses and research are present in the facilitys practices policies and culture

In 2006 HCMH opened the Wound Care at Memorial Center a comprehensive center for wound care and hyperbaric medicine Our specially trained staff at the center is dedicated to providing comprehensive treatment using the most technologically advanced wound care therapy In addition we will provide valuable education to the patients and caregivers to assist with problem wound management Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy is used as an adjunctive treatment for problematic nonhealing wounds that meet specific criteria and it is expected that 20 of the wound care cases will meet those criteria
