What started as a small country hospital in 1900 has become a multifacility corporation In the 1990s the Missionary Benedictine Sisters formed a new corporation Graceville Missionary Benedictine Sisters to operate an expanded range of health care services under the new title Graceville Health Center GHC It was also during this time that GHC acquired Grace Home from the City of Graceville
Grace Village was built in 2005 and connects to Grace Home This 16 apartment assisted living facility provides tenants who are unable to stay at home but do not require 24hour care to live in a residential setting with services designed to meet their individual needs
Graceville Health Center now encompasses every area of health care through clinics in Graceville and Chokio Holy Trinity Hospital Home Health Services Grace Home longterm care and Grace Village assisted living
2010 brought on more changes What was formerly Graceville Health Center is now known as Essentia Health Graceville
Essentia Health Graceville joined the Essentia Health family in October 2010 Essentia Health consists of 17 hospitals 62 clinics 11 residential facilities and 750 physicians united with one common purpose to revolutionize the process of delivering highquality highvalue health care in rural communities Essentia Health brings together Innovis Health SMDC Health System Brainerd Lakes Health and Essentia Community Hospitals and Clinics
Essentia Health Graceville continues to have its own local leadership who manage staffing based on the needs of its community Essentia Health Graceville also maintains its Catholic sponsorship through the Benedictine Sisters of Duluth who not only sponsor Essentia Health but also sponsor the College of St Scholastica and Benedictine Health System
