The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan CMHIFL is one of Colorados two stateoperated inpatient psychiatric hospitals The hospital is under the direction of the Colorado Department of Human Services CDHS The Mental Health Institute Division administers and oversees the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Fort Logan CMHI Fort Logan and the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo The Division is part of the Colorado Department of Human Services and is organized within the Departments Office of Behavioral Health and Housing

CMHI Fort Logan serves clients in the civil mental health system Civil clients are referred for admission by the statess Community Mental Health Centers CMHI Fort Logan works with the Community Mental Health Centers and mental health professionals patients families and mental health advocacy groups toward the goal of preparing our patients to return to their homes and communities CMHI at Fort Logan is a training institution and has internship programs for psychologists psychiatrists social workers registered nurses recreational occupational and music therapists as well as for pastoral education
