CliftonFine Hospital History
The CliftonFine Community located in the pristine Northwest portion of the Adirondack Park consists of deep forests pristine lakes and rivers and majestic mountains It is a region whose beautiful open space attracts residents and visitors alike But were it not for CliftonFine Hospital whose services often mean the difference between life and death these same sweeping rural vistas could be a challenge to finding readilyaccessible medical assistance for those who are injured or ill The Hospitals commitment to its community has been steadfast and must remain so in order to serve all who seek its services

For nearly sixty years the CliftonFine Hospital has been
an integral part of the community The Hospital was established in 1951 when Dr Robert Persson working closely with a group of friends and colleagues raised the funds to establish the CliftonFine Hospital

The Hospital was founded and has always been supported by members of the community it serves It represents the willingness of everyone in our community to care for and about each other Through times of prosperity and economic stress CliftonFine Hospital has continued to grow carefully steadily and thoughtfully while remaining true to its mission and longstanding tradition of providing highquality accessible healthcare close to home

The personalized care we provide to all our patients is central to our work It is paramount to all that we do and is at the core of the Hospitals mission and culture Every person who is part of CliftonFine Hospital from physicians to nurses to professional staff to volunteers and donors is also a member of the caring community that makes up the region in which the Hospital resides

From its humble beginnings CliftonFine Hospital has grown to become recognized as a highly regarded hospital providing a host of quality services to approximately 5000 yearround residents and up to twice that number when seasonal visitors come to southern St Lawrence County The Hospitals federal designation as a rural 20bed Critical Access Hospital ensures financial stability and guarantees that CliftonFine Hospital will continue to provide the healthcare services our patients need most to remain healthy while allowing them to stay close to home
