History
On August 20 1969 Brownwood Community Hospital opened for patient care under the direction of the Brown County Hospital Authority In 1974 new additions were made to the Lab and Business Office In 1983 additions to the ER and HIM were completed as was the addition of two Surgical Suites an enlarged Radiology Department and a new CT Scan The Watson Imaging CenterMRI Suite was completed in 1991 and renovations were made to the Obstetrics and Womens Services Area In 1992 the Outpatient and Administrative Offices were built The James BN Walker Cancer Center and a Medical Office Building were added in 1994 Renovations in 2002 included an expanded Emergency Department centralized medical records a more modern facility entrance and better patient privacy for the admissions process


In 2004 renovations were completed in the Surgery Suites a stateof theart ICU was added and new Respiratory Therapy Department In 2006 the hospital added an offsite Rehab amp Fitness Zone Most recently The Wound Healing amp Hyperbaric Medicine Center was opened in 2007 and an Express Admissions Unit was added to our hospital services the same year
