History
Banner Lassen Medical Center in Susanville California originally opened in 1883 as Lassen County Hospital In 1994 Lutheran Health System assumed management responsibility for the hospital and purchased the hospital from St Marys Hospital in 1999 That year the Lutheran Health System merged with Samaritan Health and became Banner Health Banner Health decided to build a new facility north of town and the new Banner Lassen Medical Center opened in May 2003
