A close friend of the AMMurugappa Chettiar Sir Ivan Stedeford was instrumental in starting the TI factory and TII complex in India As a mark of respect to this illustrious entrepreneur the new Hospital to be run by the Trust was named after Sir Ivan Stedeford
The opening of the Sir Ivan Stedeford Hospital in 1966 on the Avadi Ambattur Trunk Road marked a significant milestone in the history of the AMM Charities Trust currently known as AMM Foundation Located in Ambattur Chennai this modern multispeciality hospital has been serving 450000 patients a year It performs nearly 5000 surgeries every year and it makes available specialist services The hospital also has fully equipped intensive care unit ICU Neonatal Intensive care NICU and is always well prepared to handle emergencies The hospital also has 10 ultra modern Dialysis machines to cater to the needs of Patients with kidney disease
