Dr Astha has graduated from the famous Sion Hospital Mumbai She finished her postgraduation in ophthalmology from the prestigious King Georges Medical College Lucknow She went ahead and pursued her fellowship in Vitreoretina and ROP from H V Desai Eye Hospital Pune She has been bestowed with JRD Tata Scholarship and Ratan Tata Scholarship for her exceptional academic performance She is also a recipient of Prof Yasuo Tano Travel Grant in APAOAIOS 2013
Dr Astha Jain has worked with St Johns Medical College Bangalore and Narayana Nethralaya Bangalore post which she went on to join Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital Mumbai and worked under the tutelage of Dr S Natarajan
Serving the community has always been in her mind During the difficult Covid times she went on to work with a charitable hospital in Ayodhya where she performed large number of cataract and retina surgeries for the economically weaker section of the society
Dr Astha Jain specializes in performing cataract surgeries by phacoemulsification She has a vast experience in using Multifocal and EDOF intraocular lenses which helps to provide glasses free clear vision
She has an expertise in treatment of all kinds of retinal disorders through laser injection and surgeries She performs Microincision Sutureless Vitrectomy for conditions such as Retinal Detachment Vitreous Hemorrhage Diabetic Retinopathy and Macular Surgeries
Along with the clinical work Dr Astha is also a writer and an avid researcher She has several research publications in various national and international journals to her credit Her main area of research includes diabetic retinopathy She has also authored a book ldquoCutting Edge Vitreoretinal Surgeryrdquo along with her mentors Dr S Natarajan and Dr Sandeep Saxena
