Oke eye hospital was started by Dr Mukund Oke MBBS DOMS in 1982 as a small unit to give modern surgical facilities to his patients

It was a era of intra capsular cataract surgery The knowledge and surgical skills Dr Mukund Oke had imbibed at Arvind Eye Hospital Madurai during his post PG residency were his assets This was one of the few centers where microsurgical skills were in use in that decade Being a devoted anterior segment surgeon with enthusiasm to keep pace with all the new developments and surgical techniques Dr Mukund Oke was one of the pioneers in extra capsular cataract surgery with posterior chamber IOLI in Central India as early as in 1985 The march towards progress continued along with the changes and new developments in ways to deal with cataract

Then started the era of Phacoemulsification Oke Eye hospital takes pride in being the pioneer center doing this procedure from early 90s

With research and developments in machines microscopes and intraocular lenses Oke Eye Hospital is a well equipped unit in cataract and glaucoma segment one of the first centers in Central India to start foldable IOL implantation multifocal toric and multifocal toric IO L implants latest glaucoma drainage devises etc
