Our journey started 20 years back with Dr Jayashree Todkars practice in general surgery which moved onto a lot of trauma and accidents cases gunshot wounds highway accidents etc which honed her surgical acumen For further skill acquisition the next step was laparoscopic minimally invasive surgery That time laparoscopic surgery was limited to appendectomy and gall bladder diseases It was thought that why should we be restricted to this and patients of major diseases should also benefit from this She developed a technique of minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery for Myasthenia Graves that goes into the world surgical library in her name
Her team is included in the Limca book of Records for 46 hernias done in 10 hours and still unbroken over last 10 years She visited several centres in countries such as Italy USA Brazil Germany and France where she upgraded her skills in this area The first laparoscopic gastric bypass in India was performed by the team of Dr JST and Dr SSS

The biggest struggle was to spread awareness amongst both patients as well as the caregivers that Obesity is a disease Support Groups Public Awareness Programs to increase awareness amongst the patients and the general public Fellowships Training programs and Conferences to spread awareness knowledge and train the medical and paramedical fraternity
Psychology was involved as one of the main assets of the treatment by Dr Jayasshree Todkars Centre for the first time Several Articles were published International Papers presented and Awards Bestowed Proudly we are one of the first extra American centres to be accredited by the USA based surgical review corporation as the International Centre of Excellence Dr Todkar has been felicitated as a Super Surgeon by Surgical Review Corporation
