History

The concept of a Major Orthopaedics Accident Trauma and Neurocentre was inititated by Dr Thomas A Chandy the Medical Director and Chief of Orthopaedics He did his MBBS at St Johns Medical College Bangalore and moved to the US in 1976 for specialization in orthopaedics

After completing a 4 year Post Graduation Resident training in 1980 in Orthopaedics at the Jewish Hospital and Medical Centre in New York he was on the faculty at the same hospital for two years

Dr Chandy trained for a year 19821983 at the University of Oklahoma in Arthroscopy Sports Medicine and knee surgery He was appointed as the Chief of Orthopaedics at the Claremore Regional Medical Centre in 1983 and worked there till 1993 At this time the idea evolved to start a world class Orthopaedic Neuro and Accident hospital on an international standard He is one of the first US Board Certified Orthopaedic Surgeons in India
