History

On July 4 1954 HGM Hospital was blessed by Most Rev Mar Sebastian Vayalil the Late Bishop of Palai It was his farsightedness which made HGM Hospital a reality The Late Very Rev Fr Sebastian Pinakattu the Vicar and the founder of the hospital was the first Director The hospital grew steadily during the regime of Most Rev Mar Joseph Pallikaparampil Bishop Emeritus Most Rev Mar Joseph Kallarangattu the present Bishop of the Diocese of Palai the Patron of the HGM Hospital and the HGM Registered Trust is legal holder of the Hospital The legal responsibility lies with the Board of Trustees Rev Fr Mathew Thekkel is the present Director of the Hospital and the executive Trustee He has been the Chancellor of the Diocese of Palai Parish Priest of three parishes including the Cathedral and served as the Finance Officer of the SyroMalabar Major Archiepiscopal Church of Ernakulam Angamaly
