The Eye Care amp Research Centre Steps into 23rd year of its existence on July 1 2007 On this auspicious occasion we recall with gratitude the trust and confidence reposed on us by our innumerable friends and admirers which have helped us to grow and sustain over the years We are specially indebted to old freedom fighters of bygone days who allowed us to carry on our activities from their premises Biplabi Niketan With the unstinted support of all concerned we have so far been able to treat about 600000 patients suffering from complicated eye diseases who attended our clinics from different parts of the country and Bangladesh

During the year we lost following members of our Eye Care family

Dr Bivas Roy Veteran Freedom Fighter amp President Biplabi Niketan expired on 6th July 2006

Dr P K Chaudhuri Ex National President of the Indian Medical Association and our VicePresident expired on 16th August 2006

Father G Beckers SJ retired Professor of St Xaviers College Calcutta and a great Philanthropist and social worker and our founder President expired on 9th December 2006

Prof Dr Durgadas Roy Chodhury our member and consultant of the Neuroophthalmology clinic expired on 29th January 2007

All of them played significant role in the development of the institution from the very inception We pray our respectful homage to them
