The incidence of Cancer is increasing not only due to increase in population but also due to increase in life expectancy Exposure to carcinongens and life style habits also contribute to elevate cancer incidence Cancer in India is the second largest cause of death at all ages Majority of the Indians come from low socioeconomic strata and with lack of necessary modern cancer treatment infrastructure the disease continues to menace human life Large number of patient usually come at the treatment centre well in the advance stage of disease

There is wide spread gap between the existing cancer treatment facility and the new being undertaken At present there are only five radiotherapy treatment centre with linear Accelerator facility in whole of Gujarat BA Smt Lilaben Chimanlal Parikh Cancer Centre was inaugurated on 3 Jan 2011 to support cancer education diagnostics treatment and establishing standard of care for the treatment of cancer

BA Smt Lilaben Chimanlal Parikh Cancer Centre is centrally at Navsari a district headquarter in South Gujarat with major rail road links to adjoining districts in South Gujarat as well as with Mumbai and Ahmadabad The district is adjoined by predominantly backward areas of Dang Valsad Union Territories Daman Silvassa Dadra Nagar Haveli and Surat district BA Smt Lilaben Chimanlal Parikh Cancer Centre has well developed infrastructure large pool of skilled man power and state of art diagnostics and treatment facilities

The Centre provides necessary treatment to poor patients at par with Govt hospital and provide free treatment to BELOW POVERTY LINE BPL patient register with GSWAN site The Centre also provides cashless treatment to all designated MA Yojana Patient

History
Navsari Cancer Care Foundation Navsari established in 1998 is a nonprofit registered public charitable trust with major objective of detection diagnosis treatment and increasing awareness of cancer among people of the region The trust has entered in to a MOU with Govt of Gujarat to establish modern state of art radiotherapy centre with linear accelerator at MGGcivil hospital Navsari The Govt of Gujarat has leased 1799 sq meter of prime land to the trust for this benevolent activity The total plan outlay for the project including corpus fund is 30 crores

The trust has receiced plan approval of AERB The trust also received IT exemption Us 80G and 35 AC BELOW POVERTY LINE BPL patient register with GSWAN Site are being treated free of cost at the centre
