Bangalore West Lions Superspeciality Eye Hospital was founded on 30th June 1984 a project of Lions Club of Bangalore West Trust as a nonreligious nonpolitical nonsectarial taxexempt charitable hospital Hospital was started with a vision to conquer blindness and provide outstanding ophthalmological services to the less fortunate and to lower and middle income group at most affordable tariff Our Hospital is a teaching institution and a Training Centre with over 100 staff members Our Eye Bank is a member of International Federation of Eye Banks USA amp member of Eye Bank Association of India

Our Hospital is a Super Speciality Eye setup with over 16000 Sq ft carpet area and located in the central part of Bangalore City The hospital has two most modern air conditioned bioclean Operation Theatres and other stateoftheart facilities The hospital has more than 100 personnel among whom are 18 doctors including 5 consultants and 13 Fellow amp DNB The story of this institution has been a saga of relentless hard work and dedication in the service of the visually challenged

The Hospital is housed in two buildings A three floored old building houses the hospital wards operation theatre Eye bank LASIK center OPD consultation rooms and administrative offices It also has the investigations room pharmacy optical canteen and clinical departments viz cornea retina glaucoma

A 2 floored new building houses the Paediatric Ophthalmology department in 1st floor which has been clubbed with ORBIS for Makkala Nethra Jyothi project which aims at the problem of childhood blindness in 5 districts of KarnatakaBangalore urban Bangalore rural Kolar Hassan and Chamrajnagar and Community Ophthalmology on 2nd floor where operation theatres for the camp patients their staying facilities are available and also subsidized OPD for poor patients
