1991 betrug im Land Brandenburg die Wartezeit auf eine geplante Herzoperation mehr als 12 Monate So wurde die Idee des ersten Herzzentrums Brandenburgs mit Standort Cottbus geboren Seit 1995 werden nun am SanaHerzzentrum Cottbus Patienten behandelt Bereits uumlber 20000 Menschen wurden seitdem erfolgreich am offenen Herzen operiert
Seit April 2000 gehoumlrt das SanaHerzzentrum Cottbus hundertprozentig zur Sana Kliniken AG sehr zur Zufriedenheit der Patienten Im Rahmen der SanaPatientenbefragung erreichte das Herzzentrum beim Qualitaumltspreis Patientenzufriedenheit in der Kategorie Bestes Gesamtergebnis 2010 zum vierten Mal in Folge den ersten Platz Danach wuumlrden 978 Prozent der Befragten das Cottbuser Herzzentrum ihren Familienangehoumlrigen oder Freunden weiterempfehlen
