The longterm care services at South Cumberland Community Care Centre SCCCC in Parrsboro Nova Scotia are offered in conjunction with an outpatientemergency department with 24hour oncall emergency coverage Assessment and stabilization of lifethreatening conditions prior to transfer as well as diagnostic services utilizing the laboratory and xray are provided Geriatric assessment clinics are conducted and services such as diabetes education physiotherapy and occupational therapy social work dietary and mental health clinics are provided on a parttime basis by staff from other county sites
The South Cumberland Community Care Centre has been part of the Parrsboro community since 1947 with the present facility opening in 1975 It is a 16 bed facility with 14 long term care beds and 2 swingpalliative care beds
