Fort Eries Douglas Memorial Site opened in 1931 the result of a bequest from local doctor Dr William Douglas Today this 46 bed hospital is a centre for the delivery of patient services in the greater Fort Erie area for a population of approximately 30000 Inpatient Complex Continuing Care beds and shortterm Acute Care beds are sited here with a number of outpatient programs in place to serve this busy border community The site is the location of a 24hour Urgent Care Centre providing care and treatment for a range of nonemergency ailments Other outpatient services include a Methadone Clinic and a satellite Ontario Breast Screening Program
