History
The South Perth Community Centre Association decided in 1949 to establish its own hospital The community members fundraised and with financial subsidy from the Western Australian Government a hospital with 26 beds and two operating theatres was opened on 26 April 1956
The hospital has since undergone several major extensions upgrades and additions and it now comprises 65 beds and three operating theatres
The hospital is led by a voluntary Board of Management with operational management delegated to the Chief Executive OfficerDirector of Nursing The hospital has no shareholders or owners
