Macquarie Hospital is a 195 bed specialized mental health residential facility for adults with a serious mental illness or disorder It is gazetted under the NSW Mental Health Act 1990 Acute services are provided for RydeHunters Hill residents and rehabilitationextended care services for those who live in the catchment areas of Northern Sydney Central Coast Health Service The hospitals clinical areas include a 14 bed acute admission unit providing assessment and short term treatment for patients requiring acute psychiatric care eight rehabilitation units providing medium and longterm mental health rehabilitation and extended care and six day program areas
