West Alabama Urology Associates provides comprehensive urologic care to men women and children We aim to provide the most current medical and surgical treatment to West Alabama with an emphasis on minimally invasive laparoscopic and robotic techniques
Dr Aldridge has been a leader in the field of urology since he opened his practice in West Alabama more than 20 years ago He has held leadership positions on the medical staffs of both DCH Regional Medical Center and Northport Medical Center and in the local and state medical societies He was recently named the 2018 GarberGalbraith MedicalPolitical Award winner by The University of Alabama Medical Alumni Association He has also been named as one of the Top Doctors in Birmingham Magazine He currently holds the position of Vice President of Medical Affairs at DCH Regional Medical Center
Dr Winfield is a pioneer in the area of minimally invasive surgery He was the first in the world to perform a laparoscopic partial nephrectomy and he was one of the first in the world to use the da Vinci Surgical System a robotassisted device that allows the surgeon to perform incredibly delicate procedures He has performed thousands of surgeries using minimally invasive techniques and he has trained scores of physicians in the use of the da Vinci Surgical System
Dr Thom joined the staff of West Alabama Urology in 2011 Dr Thom treats both benign and cancerous conditions and diseases of genitourinary system He has a special interest in minimally invasivelaparoscopicrobotic procedures for renal prostate and bladder diseases He also evaluates and treats urologic conditions in children
