Saint Peters brings the latest medical practices and highly skilled professionals to the bedside We treat more than 30000 inpatients and more than 200000 outpatients annually We employ 2800 healthcare professionals and support personnel and more than 900 physicians and dentists have privileges at our facility

As a statedesignated acute care childrens hospital we offer a full range of specialized pediatric healthcare services including one of the most sophisticated maternity programs delivering as many as 6100 newborns annually The Childrens Hospital at Saint Peters University Hospital operates one of the largest and most advanced neonatal intensive care units in the country as part of the hospitals statedesignation as a Regional Perinatal Center

Saint Peters offers cancer care for both adults and children including inpatient care and outpatient radiation and infusion services Since 1985 our cancer program has been accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer as a Teaching Hospital Cancer Program and most recently became the first hospital in central New Jersey and the second in the state to earn accreditation for its breast cancer services

In 2009 Saint Peters University Hospital was designated a primary stroke center by the New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services A primary stroke center is the first line of defense in diagnosing and treating strokes and preventing or minimizing permanent brain damage

In support of our mission to provide quality medical education Saint Peters is a regional medical campus of Drexel University College of Medicine the largest private medical school in the nation Saint Peters also sponsors residency programs in internal medicine obstetricsgynecology and pediatrics that are approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education

Saint Peters is fully accredited by The Joint Commission and was the tenth hospital in the nation to be designated as a Magnet hospital for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center in 1998 Today we are one of only six hospitals in the world to have achieved this honor for a fourth consecutive term As the gold standard of nursing care the Magnet Award is the highest honor given by the American Nurses Credentialing Center
