Mangat Hospital was established in 1973 when Dr GS Mangat and his wife Dr S K Mangat had moved from UK to India The couple had worked at a missionary hospital in Ferozepur and Jalandhar before deciding on starting their own hospital

Their set up started as a small clinic which led to two satellite hospitals and a clinic and eventually a 50 bed hospital in Jalandhar Now it is a multi specialty hospital with prominent physicians and surgeons working there The hospital has Orthopaedic OB amp GYN General Surgery Laparoscopic Surgery Nephrology Urology Medical laboratory and Physiotherapy units

The hospital has been a landmark for handling Orthopaedic trauma in keeping with the latest advances in all fields Mangat Hospital has started Joint replacement Surgery since 1995 with a dedicated Operation theater and specialty trained staff including Physiotherapy

Dr G Mangat has been recognized and honored by several organizations and committees The OB amp GYN department is chaired by Dr SK Mangat and she was among the first in Jalandhar to initiate IVF Now this technology has become easily accessible to everyone She has been the Obstetrician for several thousands of city residents who can relate to have been delivered by her and are now prominent and proud citizens of this city
