The foundation is engaged in clinical Laboratory and community field research encompassing urban especially urban slum and rural population of GujaratThe emphasis for research has been to identify amp investigate in depth the health problems of community with emphasis on cardiorespiratory and other disorders with a view to prevent and also to study the means and methods for their aliviation

Dr Jivraj mehta smarak health foundation established this Medical Research Centre to commemorate the distinguished services of Dr Jivraj Mehta the first chief minister of GujaratIndia in the fields of medical services The established of the foundation has been entirely the brain child of its founder president Shri Ratubhai Adani It was because of his determination to bring his dream come true and because of his undaunted efforts that this foundationand its medical research centre could come into existence through the benevolent donations from philanthrophists

The institute was commissioned on 2and October 1989 The institute provides for the services of over 100 honorary consultants in almost all the specialities and superspecialities of medicineIn addition to services of honorary consultants the institution has a component of fulltime medical officers resident medical officers post graduate medical officers full time and part specialists for all the 24 hours patient care services including emergency services through its casuality department mannes by well qualified casualty medical officers

There is an excellent fully equipped amp staffed fullu air conditioned ICCU with 14 and ICU of 6 beds to cater to acute cardiac disorders and emergencies The most advanced laboratory services with high tech instrumentation radiology amp ultrasound investigative services of cardiology investigations eg Computerized ECG amp stress test echo Doppler investigation peripheral Doppler investigation etc are availableThe center also has an excellent facilities of most modern operation theatres well equipped with trained staff amp modern equipments
