Description

Since opening its doors in September 1957 Northwest Medical Center has built a great reputation on its tradition of community healthcare

The hospital exists thanks to some tremendous community support which raised more than a quarter of a million dollars to match federal funding and build the original facility

Generous community backing has played a crucial role in the hospitals ability to provide the latest healthcare services and to complete necessary expansion projects

All of the projects were possible thanks to contributions from individual estates and local fundraisers including one of the larger projects in recent history a 15 million renovation and expansion project completed in late 2001 This project included a major facelift to all patient rooms updating and improving the accommodations

Since that time Northwest Medical Center opened an allnew kitchen and dining area offering more selections and services to patients visitors and staff This project was completed in May 2005 It was quickly followed by the construction of a stateoftheart fiveroom emergency department designed to increase patient capacity and improve patient visibility for physicians and nurses The new ER is located in the hospitals former Critical Care Unit with an entrance on the south side of the building

Now after a halfcentury of dedicated service Northwest Medical Center looks forward to a strong future serving you with health care programs and services that meet the everchanging health needs of families in Gentry County and the surrounding northwest Missouri area
