University of Minnesota Medical Center and located within it University of Minnesota Amplatz Childrens Hospital were created in 1997 as a result of the merger between University of Minnesota Hospital and Clinic and Fairview Health Services The medical center and hospital are a division of Fairview Health Services a statewide network of hospitals community clinics home care and hospice services pharmacies senior housing and longterm care facilities
