Saint Agnes Hospital is a 307bed fullservice teaching hospital with residency programs in a number of medical and surgical specialties

In 1862 The Daughters of Charity began Saint Agnes Hospital carrying on their centuriesold mission of service The first Catholic hospital in Baltimore Saint Agnes was originally created to provide nursing care for the poor The facility moved to its present location in 1876 and was reorganized as a fullservice hospital in 1906

In 1999 Saint Agnes parent organization The Daughters of Charity National Health System joined the Sisters of St Joseph Health System to create Ascension Health the largest nonprofit health care organization in the nation As the current parent organization of Saint Agnes Hospital Ascension Health is dedicated to reaching new heights in health care and service to our communities as well as serving as a model for faithbased health care throughout the world
