Description

The Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit ASRU is a regional spinal injury service which provides comprehensive care for people with a spinal cord injury from the central north island to the far north

Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit is part of Counties Manukau District Health Board and is located at 30 Bairds Road in South Auckland in close proximity to Middlemore Hospital

The service is a 20 bed inpatient unit that is dedicated to short term rehabilitation for patients of all ages who have sustained a spinal cord injury with a neurological deficit For more information see Inpatients

The outpatient service offers regular lifelong followup for clients once they have been discharged from our inpatient service Patients are either assessed at the Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit or at the Outreach Clinics in their local regions For more information see Outpatients

The Auckland Spinal Rehabilitation Unit is one of two regional spinal rehabilitation services in New Zealand the other service being Burwood Spinal Unit at Burwood Hospital in Christchurch
